Argentina is Copa America champion after 28 years

 The last Argentine triumph in the oldest and most important selection tournament of the continent was 1993.

The soccer team of Argentina defeated its 1-0 similar by 1-0 and stayed with the Copa América Championship 2021 this July 10 at the Maracaná Stadium (Rio de Janeiro).

The team led by Lionel Scaloni achieved the fifteenth title of Argentina in the history of the Continental Tournament.

Argentina is now the top winner of the Copa America, since it shares with the first competition champion: Uruguay. While Brazil stayed with nine conquests.

In 105 years of history that carries the rivalry the Argentines had never defeated the Brazilians as a visitor. Recent statistics, in addition, was not in his favor: Brazil had won in the last six direct elimination crosses and since June 8, 2005, Argentina did not expire it in an official competition party.

After the meeting, the attention was concentrated on Lionel Messi. The Argentine, six times winner of the Golden Ball-Premio awarded by the specialized magazine France Football the best player of the season, since 1956-, got his first championship with the absolute selection.
